Debate club recently established in Peja, Kosovo

A training for high school students in Peja, Kosovo was held on January 27th by the FOL Movement (Speak Up Movement) and the Balkan Investigatory Reporting Network (BIRN). After receiving training on the Karl Popper Debate format, fifteen students joined the newly established debate club in Peja. The new debaters expressed their satisfaction and enthusiasm with the debate program, and they look forward to attending the Prishtina Open Debate Tournament later this month.

This was the first phase of a project supported by the Kosovo Open Society Foundation to re-institute the debate program in Kosovo. The FOL Movement and BIRN are now organizing similar trainings for debate clubs in other Kosovo cities such as Prishtina and Ferizaj.
