On April 8, top university teams go head-to-head in New York

The Open Society Institute Youth Initiative’s Debate Program is supporting a series of international debates in the United States this spring. The series will culminate in a round-robin invitational sponsored in part by the Open Society Institute and organized by the International Debate Education Association and Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Debaters from eight universities and six countries will put on a public exhibition debate in World University Style, the world's most popular format of debate.

Lunch will be provided, but please note that seating may be limited.

Debate Topic: "This house believes that developing nations should prioritize adapting to climate change over preventing it."
