Topics for the 2010 IDEA Youth Forum Announced

During the IDEA Youth Forum held every summer, two debate tournaments are traditionally held for participants- the Karl Popper Debate Championship and the Mixed Teams Tournament. In preparation for these tournaments, debate topics for the 2010 IDEA Youth Forum have recently been announced.

The theme for the 2010 Karl Popper Debate Championship (KPDC) will feature youth issues and is divided into two motions. The first motion is "Countries should ban the import of goods produced by child labor," and the second motion is "In some cases juveniles should be tried as adults." The KPDC lasts from July 22nd-26th. For more information, click here.

The theme for the 2010 Mixed Team Tournament (MTT) will focus on migration and the motion will be "Government should preserve rural life." This tournament takes place July 27th-August 4th and for more information, click here.

The 2010 IDEA Youth Forum will be held in Zeeland, Netherlands from July 22 to August 4 and is sponsored by IDEA and Zeeland's Institute for Social and Cultural Development (SCOOP). For more information on the Youth Forum, click here.
